Climate Change Had Nothing to with the Victorian Fires on Black Sunday 2009 ! The Fringe is Caught Out Again?
Fortunately the world is getting wise to this line of stupidity and ignorance! Unfortunately the Krudd government is not listening to logic, but to the rock'n'roll climate guru Pete Garrett!
And that's The Northern Truth!!
Article from: "Anatomy of a firestorm" 26-2-09 by William Kininmonth is a former head of Australia's national Climate Centre.
"It is fashionable to promote climate change as being a contributor to changing fire frequency and intensity. The pattern of rainfall over the past century does not point to a trend of reduction in rainfall. Nor has any link been offered between global temperature trends and the meteorology of Victorian heatwaves. Extreme bushfire events are rare events and must be analysed according to the statistics relating to rare events; the breaking of a previous temperature record established 70 years earlier does not establish an underlying trend.
The firestorm conditions of Black Saturday 2009 resulted from the earlier conditioning of vegetation and the unusually intense meteorology of the heatwave that established hot dry airflow and accompanying strong winds over a wide area. While it is possible to broadly identify and monitor the characteristics there is much to be learned about the large-scale controls over seasonal rainfall and the unique meteorology of heatwaves. Ongoing research, early adoption of new technologies and the maintenance of robust meteorological infrastructure are essential strategies forming part of our community defence against future megafires".

The potential cost of the Rudd Government’s panicked decision-making is becoming clearer.
Wednesday, February 25, 2009
How will it affect you?
The potential cost of the Rudd Government’s panicked decision-making is becoming clearer.
· The Daily Telegraph today reported the Government is considering abandoning its promise of paid maternity leave:
“Senior ministers have been privately warning interest groups the $40 billion hole in the Government’s budget will make it too difficult to fund the proposed $450 million scheme in this May’s Budget.” (Daily Telegraph 24/2/09)
· The Age reported Government departments are recommending that the private health rebate be scrapped:
“…Treasury, in one of the first briefings to the Rudd Government after its 2007 election win, urged Mr Swan to seriously consider scrapping the rebate…. Proposals to scrap the rebate have also been contained in Health Department discussion papers prepared for [Health Minister Nicola] Roxon. Documents obtained by The Age reveal the cabinet discussed the option at least twice.” (The Age 24/2/09)
· The West Australian reported the Government’s tax review panel is considering scrapping share dividend imputation, a long-standing system which allows tax paid by a company to be attributed to shareholders as a tax credit. (West Australian 24/2/09)
When Labor governments run up deficits and take us into massive debt, the price is paid by ordinary Australians through either higher taxes or fewer services.
The Coalition is committed to holding Labor to account and ensuring strong, well thought through decisions are made to keep Australia’s future secure.

Will the Real Desley Boyle Stand Up and accept some Responsibilty for the Bligh Labor Diaster?
Nice to see the Desley Boyle core-flutes littering the roads and by-ways of Cairns. It's so nice to see any picture without Desley's foot in her mouth! I have always enjoy her core-flutes for they portray the ageing process in all it's various stages (see above pictures) and how well the Labor Party mavens can use Photoshop to cover the ageing doyens facial lines.
The top core flute was taken when she was in her frizzy more radical hair days. This hairdo made sure that she would get that most important Green vote and that she believes in Global Warming, and was firmly against Globalisation!
The second core flute is the current 2009 look, the button down Desley look, somewhat like Kevin o7, you remember the "I'm a financial conservative" ad or you don't have to tell the truth to have credibility in Australia, do you? Well this is meant to portray her as a steady handed minister near the helm of the sinking ship of state! This hairdo is attractive to the conservative vote, clean, honest and trustworthy. My Labor team couldn't possible be running the State of Queensland into deep reckless debt?
And you do remember such famous Desley quotes as:
"You say there is crime in Cairns? What is crime?"
"Tourist come to Cairns?" "What are Tourist?"
"I thought I represented the people of Brisbane?, my mistake I'm so sorry!"
"Your serious then? You really mean I actually live in Cairns?"
"I must be lost what am I doing in Cairns?"
"I love the Cairns area, I must visit here more often."
"What is a farmer?"
"What is sugar cane?"
More from JKR, Thank you!
"I know, I will "save the yacht club" and then rip it up and dump it at the university out of the way".
"The problem with tourist operators is that they are bigger whingers than farmers".
"You are kidding if you think that the people of Cairns will recognise that our "upgrades to the hospital" were actually bankrolled themselves. We won't actually SPEND money in Far North Queensland".
I think you get the picture about our Ms. Desley!
And that's The Northern Truth!!

National Party Just Can't Get the Details right! And I ask Why?
One of the problems I ran into during the federal election of 2007 as leader of the Liberal Party in Leichhardt was dealing with the incompetent staffers and you know how I feel about the intelligence of the former director in Brisbane.
They produced a core-flute (road side sign) for the candidate that the background blended into her dark hair (see attached picture Charlie McKellop), so the core-flute's colour selection made it hard to clearly view from the road as you drove by, but at least her head/shoulder shot dominated the core-flute.
I noticed Joel Harrop's LNP core-flute this morning on Pease Street (see picture above). The LNP standard issue core-flute looks very good, the problem was the the torso shot should have been blown up to proper proportions to fill the stock background poster like Charlie's.
Now to be fair to Joel, I have only seen his core-flute and really don't know if the problem is state wide or just unique to Joel. But if all the core-flutes turn out the same way, the someone in supervision in Brisbane has dropped the ball and should be sacked! I will bet you that the opposition leader's core flutes don't have this problem and you know he's not paying for them!
These marketing cock ups should have been worked out way before the election was called. It just goes to show that when you allow someone 2000 Kilometers from Cairns to make design and aesthetic decisions and no one monitors the end product, that these bad decision could cost a candidate the election! It's a darn shame!

What's this Queensland Election Really all about? This Labor Government is Really on the Nose?
Tuesday, February 24, 2009
But, this election is more about pain than anything else. The average person who blindly votes Labor is basically a masochist and no matter how much pain this Labor government seems to heaps on voters, they still seem to vote Labor. So let's see the hospital's don't work, pain. We constantly are cut-off from the south by floods, a little more pain. The ambulance levy money is going into the general fund rather than to buy ambulances and higher pay for paramedics, more & more pain. The Labor government is oblivious to crime, and crime in Cairns is out of control, much more & more pain. Tourism the life blood of the North has been ignored by Labor and in fact is making excuses rather than finding solutions and investing more money into tourism, mucho, mucho pain!
So when you make up your mind who to vote for on 21 March, vote Labor if your a masochist and your threshold of pain has another three more years to test your endurance and acceptance of this Bligh's government's dismal record of failure. Or vote against Labor and show your threshold of pain and patience has about maxed out and your really need and want pain relief now, then vote for the opposition.
And that's The Northern Truth!!

The Fight is on! Bligh Calls March 21 Poll!
Monday, February 23, 2009
Now let's see if the National Party campaign mavens step up to the challenge and run a solid coherent and organised campaign that will help candidates instead of handicapping them, as they have done in the past!
I would also suggest that the National Party's Brisbane leadership share polling with the candidates so that don't waste money on futile and misguided campaigns. Now that would be a first!!
The Nationals candidates for Cairns, Mulgrave and Barron River, also need to get out into the community and actively meet the voters. You are not incumbents, so you have to work harder and smarter. If you do work hard, you will have a good chance of winning this poll!
And that's the Northern Truth!!

Queensland Economic Update - $10.8 Billion extra debt needed to fund deficits
Saturday, February 21, 2009

Courtesy Dr. Bruce Flegg MP
Member for Moggill
Queensland Economic Update - $10.8 Billion extra debt needed to fund deficits
Only weeks after delivering a rosy mini-budget the Queensland State Government have had
to admit they got it wrong.
The latest update simply revises the figures and notably only those in the Government
sector. The large Government Corporation Sector is not updated.
The update shows that we are in a deep deficit for the current year of over $1.5 billion (over
$4 billion of cash deficit) with deep Government deficits of around $3 billion projected for
each of the following 3 years. There is no sign of recovery in the Government’s budget
prior to 2012/13.
To fund these additional deficits the Government proposes to add an additional $10.8 billion
to its already mounting debt.
It is now projected that borrowings will blow out to $74 billion by the end of the
forward estimates.
The following points should be noted:-
Government admit that they have failed to meet the principles of their own charter of
social and fiscal responsibility!
This is a serious breach and brings into question the Government’s ability to manage
their finances.
Queensland Treasury Corporation had a loss in just six months of $3.5 billion. This is a
loss that would normally be on the Government’s books except they transferred
investment return risks to QTC just in time at the end of the boom. The Government
states that QTC investment returns will recover these losses. Although QTC now
carries the investment risks rather than the State Government this may yet impact on
the State Government in future years.
It is very important to note that the Government have not updated the outlook for any of
their Government Owned Corporations. This is a potential source of bad news in the
future as it is hard to imagine that Government operated businesses such as ports,
power companies, rail freight etc would be immune.
Nowhere in the update does the Government indicate what the risk of the deterioration is
to their CREDIT RATING. Years of deep deficit budgets and at this stage over $10
billion of additional borrowings to fund those deficits must surely be a potential problem
for the State’s credit rating.
It the credit rating is affected not only the Government’s ability to borrow on credit
markets would be affected but there would be a significant increase in the cost of
borrowing the large sums the Government now admit they need.
The Government do not appear to have received the benefit of rapidly falling interest rates
and costs (particularly materials like steel, oil and cost of contractors).
One would have expected as a huge borrower the State Government would have
substantially benefited by falling interest rates. Their update on the cost of interest
payments to the State appears a notable absence from their update. They do make
the point that because they have to borrow more to fund their deficits that borrowing
costs are expected to rise (see page 14).
CONCLUSION
The budget update is to declare to Queenslanders how wrong Andrew Fraser got his
numbers in December. It is not another mini-budget and does not contain expenditure or
revenue initiatives. I encourage readers to follow the link above to read the December minibudget.
This statement still appears to be overly optimistic or at the very least to omit reference to
some of the issues that the State Government’s poor financial management has triggered.

Thank You to The QLD & Cairns Anti-Fluoride Fringe Group For This Child's Teeth!
But you have to wonder about those attending this assembly aren't they the same bunch pandering the Climate Change, Anti-Globalisation, and Green lies to the Community? But this fringe gathering is now officially validated (as truly whack) by Sue Cory turning up and putting her 2 cents (if it's worth that) into the discussion. Yes the same Sue Cory from the Greens who ran for Leichhardt, (but you must hand it to her she garnered more votes than the National Party candidate) and is well known for not remembering people's names.
With Annette Sheppard, the carpetbagger from the South Jeanie Ryan and now Sue Cory the extreme element among us is in its full glory in propagating miss-information of fluoride to the community and confusing this important issue!

Cornelia "The Whack Job" Rau locked up in Jordan prison? Please just throw away the key?

I have to chuckle (John MacKenzie says this all the time), Ms. Rau who spent four months in a Australian federal lock-up after Identifying herself to authorities as a German National. Then an Australian judge for some unknown reason awarding this whack job a huge cash settlement. She has currently found herself in a Jordanian prison and has refused help from Australian Consular officials! She has apparently been wandering the Middle East for months and reported to be off her meds! You think? This is the kind of person you award cash settlements too? The courts have to be crazy to give crazy people money, she doesn't know what money is for G_d's sake! Now the Australian courts (thank you very much) have facilitated this whack job flettering about the world getting into trouble! But as the Left says, "you have to protect her rights", no you don't, just lock the cracker job up!
I say let her rot in jail, because for sure the Jordanians ain't going to give her a cash settlement, but what they will give her is a along stay in a padded cell dresses in a lovely button down straight jacket!

I Love Water Parks and People with Vision!
Friday, February 20, 2009

Finally a water park in our future!
My friends Paul & Kim Freebody truly a couple with vision have announced that they and Kathy Platt a woman of vision are on the way to building stage one of a $30 million 7ha water park called "Adventure Waters". Which could be open by September 2010!
Talk about a positive vision for the Far North and the city of Cairns. When everyone else have folded up their tents and run away from the Krudd / Swan Economic Doom Machine, these fantastic people are moving ahead with a plan to entertain us all with a wonderful cool water park!
I vividly remember when I was just a kid going to opening day at Disneyland 1955, I was eight and the park was beyond description, no one in the world had built an amusement park like it before. I thought (and I still do) Walt Disney was the greatest man on earth. And I know when this water park is completed, we all will feel the same way about Paul, Kim and Kathy!
I promise to keep everyone informed on its progress!

No time like the present to right the wrongs of the past?

I got this quote from Australian Federal Senator Ian MacDonald's FaceBook Page it's one of his three favourite quotes:
"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." - Edmund Burke
Funny because this is exactly how the Queensland Liberal Party was destroyed by the triumph of evil, because good men did nothing. And they are still doing nothing to right the wrongs of the past!

QLD MINI BUDGET – WHAT IT MEANS FOR QUEENSLAND
Member for Moggill
The Government introduced a mini budget and
economic update after Parliament rose for 2008.
Key changes you should be aware of are:
→ Motor Vehicle Registration will be increased
between 6.5% to over 10%
→ Taxes on Gaming Machines are to increase a
further 10%
→ The abolition of Stamp Duty on core business
assets has been deferred
→ An increase to some rates of Land Tax was also
announced
→ $2.5billion of capital/infrastructure expenditure
has been deferred
→ From $100-$200million in annual savings to be
cut from the public sector but with no details at
all of what departments or services will face cuts
→ Some of the most dramatic impacts will fall on
Government Owned Corporations – power, ports,
rail etc. Government owned business will be
required to:
more than double annual dividend payments to
the State Government over the next 4 years (in
fact payments to the Government will increase
from $1.17b this year to $2.57b by 2010/11)
review (reduce) capital expenditure
find assets that can be sold to provide
additional funds
review their capital structure (a euphemism for
finding opportunities to house more debt)
effectively privatise the new Wigans Island
Coal Terminal at Gladstone
The Government is also looking to reduce its own future
infrastructure financial contribution to, in particular, roads
around the Port of Brisbane. It specifically mentions the
Gateway upgrade, Logan Motorway upgrades and Port of
Brisbane Motorway duplication. Also the Government is
reducing its future commitment to new electricity
generation and the provision of infrastructure to the
emerging north west Queensland mineral province,
particularly to its energy resources.
Comment:
The Government’s mini budget, particularly the fine print
has very significant implications for Queenslanders.
It is important to note that many of these measures are
unusual. Many of them would be expected to be part of
the State Budget. To see various tax increases and the
like being made only 6 months after a State Budget that
also increased areas of State taxation indicates how
close to the wind Queensland State finances have
become.
This statement confirms quite clearly what we have been saying for a long time that the deterioration in the
Notably this Government which has delivered very little in the way of public/private development is now turning to the
private sector at the time when the private sector is in the greatest financial constraint it has been for decades. During the
boom years when the private sector was striving for investment opportunities and awash with funds almost nothing was
delivered in partnership with the private sector.
This is a direct result of the government having mishandled the investment and infrastructure cycle.
Tax increases will further erode Queensland’s once enormous competitive advantage. There is a regular procession of tax
increases not just annually in the State’s Budget but on a more regular basis.
Perhaps the most devastating consequences of the government’s effort to maintain its Budget position and its
credit rating will fall on Queenslanders through the Government Owned Corporation sector with government
owned businesses in electricity, rail, parts and the like being required to more than double payments to
governments, sell assets and look to increase debt. Queenslanders will be the ones who pay the increase. The
Government is hoping Queenslanders will not realise it is the consequence of government policy decisions such
as these.
Queenslanders are already feeling the effect in electricity prices with a 25% increase in retail price to Queensland
households over the last two years alone.
CONCLUSION:
Although some action may well have been required under the present circumstances the government has been less than
upfront about the parlous state of their finances despite coming off a boom that should have seen us in a strong position.
The state of these finances, shown clearly in mini budget documents reveals the government unable to undertake even its
current capital works programs let alone increase capital spending. They have simply left no capacity at all.
Increasing States taxes, increasing the need for the government to sell public assets simply to raise funds and
skyrocketing charges for all forms of government and GOC services is now becoming an entrenched way of life in
Queensland.
Interestingly the mini budget contains extremely rosy predictions for Queensland for the current year. Whilst predicting a
3% growth rate it fails to even mention that in the first quarter national accounts (using the measure of final State demand
the accepted quarterly measure of growth for States) Queensland had a negative growth rate of 1.5%. It is hard to see
how the remaining three quarters of this financial year could produce an effective 4.5% growth rate to turn that around.
A predicted dramatic increase in coal royalties even $400million above the already $1billion increase predicted just 6
months ago in the State Budget also looks optimistic given the current plunging prices of commodities and their
contracting volumes.
The release of this mini budget and mid year economic review was brought forward from January to December, It was
only released after parliament had risen for the year and therefore could not be debated. It was the subject of very limited
comment in the quiet pre-Christmas period. This combined with what look to be some fairly rubbery figures strongly
suggest that this is a prelude to an early election from a government not expecting to bring down another budget during
this term.
State Government’s debt position to a
projected $64billion of debt has
significantly impaired the ability of the
State Government to spend when the
State needs it most.

A special thanks to my friend Tyson Hayter
This just a taste of how quick and confident Wayne Swan is in answering questions on inflation!
What a joke, hope he's better prepared tonight, this guy's way out of his element. This is the best guy in the Labor Party to handle the job of Treasury Minister! A matter of disagreement Over Fluoride and Good Common Sense?
Tuesday, February 17, 2009
Fluoride will save the community millions of dollars in dental bills. Fluoride in the water means fewer visits to the dentist. Our dentist's endorse fluoridation because it's the right thing to do and transcends any money issue!
So Wendy I respect your stand on this issue, but I must strongly disagree with you especially when you align yourself with people like Di Forsyth, Annette Sheppard and Linda Cooper! This is a no win issue for you Wendy and the Nationals.

I will never support Viking Boy! Never ever, ever!
Monday, February 16, 2009

![]()
Is this Viking Boy? Do you think? Well no, but the real Viking Boy has the same style and people skills as Hugo!
In last weekends (14-15 Feb 09) Currier Mail, is a story written by Stefanie Balogh and Rosemary Odgers, headlined on page 17 News section, "ALP is ready to rumble".
They said that Premier Capt. Bligh, in the upcoming State election that she "intends to call the Opposition the National Party and will refuse to use the word Liberal in any of its party material." She also went on and said, "since the takeover of the Liberal Party by the Nationals, they didn't really see Liberals in Queensland any more."
Well powerful stuff and it's just what I have been saying since the National takeover in July of last year. That we Liberals who are still out in the wilderness, with no where to go and no political home, since certain traitors in our own Party undermined and help dump the old QLD Liberal Party for this pile of dog crap called the LNP, headed by Viking Boy, better know as the Smorgasbord!
I will never support the Smorgasbord and the LNP, but I do strongly support and highly recommend voting for the Conservative candidates of the North:
for Cairns Joel Harrop,
Barron River Wendy Richardson
and Mulgrave Vic Black!
If you disagree with me or questions my expert advice, check the dismal record of QLD State election drubbings by this bunch of campaign experts, ignore them! My Schnauzer Duncan knows more about running a winning political campaign, then those pack of idiots. You allow them to run a presidential style campaign and you can save your money and time and give up now. Why you ask? Well you will be running with Gomer Pyle not Ronald Reagan!
So Anna, thank you for not uttering the Liberal portion of the LNP name ever again, your 100% right those National grubs just don't deserve the right to use our name at any time!
A warning to the Nationals you can steal our name, but you can never truly have ownership of it! It belongs to the loyal and hard working members of the QLD Liberal Party and we will always own that name in spirit and in our hearts!
And that's the Northern Truth!!

My Journey & Quest in Brisbane, the Promise Land of Queensland on Friday!
Wednesday, February 11, 2009

I have planned to visit the seat of government in this great State on Friday. I hope to be meeting with Premier (Capt.) Bligh and I'm hoping to get answers to all the great questions of the North:
1. When will be getting food shipments up here?
2. Do you know that we exist?
3. Do you care?
4. When will you fix the hospital here?
5. When are you going to free us from the ambulance levy (Tax)?
6. When will ambulance ramping stop at the CBH?
7. When will the MP's for Cook, Baron River and Cairns be back in the North? Hate to drag them form their comfortable surroundings in Brisbane. It's nice to have the MP's from the North representing Brisbane up here!
8. When will we be getting are proportionate share of our tax dollars?
9. When are you going to listen and solve the problems you ignore?
10. When is John Mackenzie going stop campaigning for KB on his radio show?
11. When will the Cairns Post hire some genuine journalist?
I hope to inform you on Monday of my progress on getting answers to these important questions.

Comrad Turnour Gives Up!
Monday, February 9, 2009

Labor MP for Leichhardt Jim "Michael Jordon" Turnour, has joined his Qld State Labor comrades in giving up on an all weather highway for North Queensland.
From the Cairns Post Monday9-2-09 page 5, "You will never stop the road going under in these events".
Well Jim as usual how wrong you are, you like your State colleagues have now given up on the all weather highway project as just all to tough. Mate, I can see you haven't consulted with Krudd on this issue for like Jesus Christ as you well know, he doesn't needs bridges or elevated roads he can walk on water!
An all weather road can and someday will be built and it's not impossible. 21st century engineering can now design an all weather road, but the real reason is the votes are in Brisbane not Cairns and since your a one term MP, why should you fight for an all weather road? It's much easier to just give it all up as to hard!
Bye, Bye Jimbo!

Punch Lines has Concerns About the LNP! So What!

On Saturday I was reading the Cairns Post and my favourite columnist Greg Punshon's column "Punch Lines" . I was very interested that his major concern is if the LNP take government from this incompetent Labor Mob, that the new minsters will be without any ministerial experience, that "the front bench remains the same size as now (18), virtually every existing Opposition MP will become a Minster. Either that or there will be some L-platers holding portfolios in the new government."
So What!
Well Greg I never see your concern in writing about the past & current crops of so called experienced Labor minsters and their total incompetence over the last ten years. All with a collective IQ of 18? Any pack of idiots can do a better job than this current mob of fools! Do you Remember Gordon Nutall and the endless list of failed Health Ministers including the current one? With the list of disgraced and failed Qld Labor ministers you could write a book!
Yet your worried about what the LNP will do if elected? You need to do a bit of research before you pontificate on any subject especially politics!
So rest your poor overworked mind, that if the LNP does get into government, I can assure you that the new ministries will be in much better hands than the current mob of incompetents!
Good try Mate, now report back to your Labor Party minders that you tried your best.
And that's the Northern Truth!

Cairns is Running Out of Food! Remember the All Weather Hiway Labor Promised?
Sunday, February 8, 2009

Went to the IGA Supermarket this morning and the parking lot was jammed and so was the market. Fresh fruit and veggies are almost depleted. The rest of the shelves in the market are almost bear and the shop clerk said, "there's nothing in the back room but soft drinks, and that's it!"
What are the other ramifications of not having an all weather highway?
1. People being laid off from work when stores have nothing to sell!
2. Overland Tourist unable to reach the North!
3. Goods form the North blocked to southern markets!
4. No fuel for trucks stopping local deliveries!
5. Vital drugs and medicines to chemist's and hospital's!
6. Can't drive to work no fuel!
7. Airport will get shut down, no aviation fuel!
You get the picture! This Labor government has had ten years to do the job, yet they have plenty of money for road infrastructure in the Brisbane and the Gold Coast!
The government's mixed up priorities and and the need for re-election votes is the answer ladies and gentleman, more votes in the South-east then in North Queensland! They get the gold mine and we continually get the shaft!
And yet the silence from the three stooges, the State MP's from Barron Rivers, Cairns and Cook is deafening!
Get off your collective asses and get the strategic supplies needed to run this city NOW!
And that's the Northern Truth!

Boyle sorry for tourism slur

AN uproar over comments likening tourism operators to "whingeing farmers" has forced Tourism Minister and Cairns MP Desley Boyle to apologise.
Ms Boyle made the comments on Radio 4BC on Thursday, but yesterday apologised for "giving the wrong impression".
"I have accused the tourism industry from time to time of being a bit like farmers in saying 'Oh, there's always something wrong, there's always something wrong'," Ms Boyle said on Radio 4BC.
"If I gave that impression, I absolutely apologise," she later told ABC television.
Opposition spokesman for Northern Australia, Senator Ian Macdonald, said the comment was "an outrageous slur on two of the North's most important industries".
"This really shows the mentality that exists in this government, that farmers are considered by them to be a byword for whingers," he said.
"Tourism and farming are two of the North's most successful export industries.
"At a time like this, it shows appalling irresponsibility for a state minister to be attacking these industries which provide jobs and export income that we can't afford to lose.
"If farmers in this state occasionally complain, it is because they have good reason. Across the north, restrictions on taking water from rivers, clearing regrowth, and lack of road and rail infrastructure, have made life very difficult for them."
"Our tourism operators ... do a great job providing a real tropical North Queensland experience for people from around the world."
Joel (LNP Candidate for Cairns) just expose her for what she really is, just plan tired and washed up as a politician!
And that's the Northern Truth!

Hamas Now Stealing from the UN! Scum is Scum?
UN demands return of Gaza aid
The United Nations is demanding that Hamas return the aid it has seized from one of the UN warehouses in Gaza. The UN says armed militants broke into the building and stole supplies that were meant to go to 500 families.
Transcript
LEIGH SALES, PRESENTER: The United Nations is demanding that Hamas return aid that it seized from one of the UN warehouses in Gaza. The UN says armed militants broke into the building and stole supplies that were meant to go to 500 families.
CHRISTOPHER GUNNESS, UN RELIEF & WORKS AGENCY: We condemn it and we want this aid back. It belongs to the international community and of course it must go to the intended beneficiaries.
LEIGH SALES: Hamas has accused the United Nations of politicising aid by distributing it to its opponents.
The UN is expected to play an integral role in rebuilding Gaza because the international community refuses to deal with Hamas, and a row between the two bodies could jeopardise the process.
I guess Hamas feels that the people be damned, starve we could care less!~ Murder and terrorism is are business are only business!

So lead on Kevin and remember, we remember what you have said and how you feel about the voters and I would suggest to plan on being just a one term PM.

And that's the Northern Truth!!

QLD. Sen. Ian MacDonald Speaks Out on the Coaltion's Position on $42 Billion Stimulus Packag!
Wednesday, February 4, 2009
As a reader of Northern-Truth.com Online, I urgently need you to know that Kevin Rudd is planning to plunge Australia deep into debt with a poorly considered and ineffective $42 billion "fiscal stimulus" package.
Kevin Rudd has demanded that the Parliament approve his plans within 48 hours and has refused to discuss let alone negotiate the package with the Coalition.
We believe the size of the stimulus is too large and in the absence of any readiness by the Prime Minister to sit down and discuss the package with us, we will vote against it in the House and the Senate.
In a speech in Parliament today Malcolm Turnbull set out the reasons for voting against the package and indicated the type of changes we would favour.
We know this decision will not be popular, but it is the right decision.
We consider that the package is poorly targeted, ill-thought through and irresponsible in today’s economic climate.
At this stage we believe a package of between $15-20 billion would be more affordable and appropriate.
The objective of any package must be to protect and create jobs, support small business and strengthen our economy. This package will not achieve this.
We have said time and again that the most important issue this year is jobs.
We look at this package and we see little evidence that it will underpin the jobs of Australians.
There is no evidence the Government’s $10.4 billion spending package before Christmas created the 75,000 jobs Mr Rudd promised.
Almost all economists agree that the recession has a long way to go. And yet the Rudd Labor Government is panicking, firing all its bullets at the first engagement.
And even with his reckless cash hand-outs and massive, debt-fuelled spending, the Prime Minister’s package predicts unemployment will top 7% in just over a year – another 300,000 Australians out of work.
We believe the Senate should sit next week to ensure proper detailed scrutiny of this package, which contains the largest increase in government expenditure in 35 years.
The previous Labor Government left a legacy of $96 billion in government debt and the Budget had been in deficit for six successive years. It took the Australian people a decade to repay this debt.
Now, another Labor Government is asking us, on behalf of those hard working Australians to agree to plunge headlong back into large deficits and significant debt.
Mr Rudd’s plan asks the Parliament’s permission to take the nation $200 billion into deficit – $9,500 debt for every Australian.
Today we outline an alternate response which will be more effective in protecting Australians from the effects of the financial crisis.
It is an approach which clearly outlines the difference between the Coalition and Labor.
It is an approach borne out of a predisposition towards experienced, prudent economic management.
It is an approach which recognises the reality of a Budget deficit but aims to minimise public debt.
We propose that the permanent tax cuts currently scheduled for 1 July 2009 and 1 July 2010 be brought forward, and backdated to 1 January this year.
By the middle of 2010 this would leave a two-income household earning $80,000 approximately $1700 better off.
Perhaps the largest gap in the Government package is the lack of measures that directly and broadly support employment – particularly employment in the small business sector.
While accelerated depreciation has some merit, the Coalition believes measures that more directly, immediately improve the cash flow position of small firms and help them protect and create jobs are preferable.
One proposal the Coalition is seeking to discuss with the Government is the Commonwealth paying a portion of the Superannuation Guarantee Levy on behalf of small employers (those with 20 or fewer staff) for the next two years. This measure will directly improve the cash position of small firms, directly reduce the costs of employment, and so directly contribute to preserving jobs.
These measures are not only fairer. They also represent a better targeted and more effective stimulus for the economy. They better protect jobs.
The Coalition invites the Government to sit down and discuss alternative stimulus measures which would be responsible and allow sufficient capacity in public finances to meet emerging challenges.
The Coalition is committed to sound economic management and to ensuring that Government spending is of high quality and reduces the burden on Australian taxpayers and their children.
Yours sincerely
Ian Macdonald

Nice one, and good luck. Perhaps, if you have some spare time you might ask:
1. Where did the rivers of GST revenue gold disappear over the last 5-10 years?
2. How is Queensland better for having had a Labor Government?
3. Which Brisbane primary school drafted the 2025 plan?
4. Is Paul Lucas as tough as his mum says he is? And as stupid?
5. Is the reason Jim Turnour is never seen around here because he turned sideways, and thus became invisible to all but the most powerful telescopes?
6. Does Warren Pitt really want to contest another election, or is he doing so only because Labor have got nobody else to run in Mulgrave?
7. Will Warren Pitt run a full term, first of all if Labor WIN the election, and second if Labor lose the election?
8. Was Desley Boyle born with her foot firmly in her mouth?
9. Who is Steve Wettenhall? Ive heard of him, but have no proof that he actually exists. Can the ATO verify this fact?
10. Who did Stephen Robertson sleep with to get to be Health Minister? Was it Merri Rose and Peter Beattie?
